Why Your Towel Is Still Wet And Your Mirror Is Still Fogged
We spend 2000 euros on bathroom tiles, 800 on a glass shower, 600 on a fancy faucet. Then we heat it with a 50 euro towel ladder that was designed to dry towels, not to heat people. Touch your bathroom tiles in January. 13 degrees. Touch your floor. 15 degrees ice. You step out of a 38 degree shower onto 15 degree floor. Your body loses 200 watts in 10 seconds through your feet. You shiver. You turn on that 2000 watt hot air blower that blows 40 degree air at your face while your feet stay on ice and your mirror fogs so hard you cannot see yourself.
Hot air in a bathroom fails at everything a bathroom actually needs.
You need four things in a bathroom. Warm floor under bare feet. Warm skin when you step out wet. A mirror that never fogs. Towels that dry fast and do not smell. Hot air gives you zero of those. Hot air goes to ceiling in 5 seconds, holds more humidity, then drops that humidity on every cold tile and feeds mold.
We removed hot air from the bathroom completely.

A Mirror That Heats You, Not The Ceiling
We replaced the mirror with a mirror that is a heater. It looks like a normal bathroom mirror, 60 by 90 cm, 600 watts, frameless black glass, IP65 so you can splash it directly. When you touch the glass it is 45 degrees warm. Always.
It does not heat air. It shines invisible infrared light, exactly like winter sun through a window that warms your face even though air is minus 5. That light crosses air without heating it and becomes heat only when it hits something solid.
Stand one meter in front of it after a shower, naked and wet. In 60 seconds you feel soft warmth on your skin like standing in sun on a cold day. No draft, no blowing, no hot wind. Just light turning into heat on your skin.
Look at the mirror while shower is running behind you. It is clear. Physics says steam cannot condense on a surface warmer than air. Air in bathroom after shower is 26 degrees humid. Mirror glass is 45 degrees. Steam touches it and nothing happens. No fog, ever. No heating wire behind it that leaves brown lines, no wiping with towel. You shave while shower is still steaming.
Look down. Floor in front of mirror was 15 degree ice. After 25 minutes of invisible light from mirror it is 26 degree warm barefoot. Tiles on opposite wall were 13 degree ice, now 24 degree warm to touch. You lean on them and they are warm like a tile stove.
Towels Dry From Inside Like Laundry In Sun
Hang a wet towel one meter away from that warm mirror. A normal towel ladder tries to dry it by heating air around it to 24 degrees. Air dries only the outside of fiber. Inside stays wet for 6 hours and starts to smell.
Infrared light penetrates 2 millimeters into cotton and heats water inside fiber directly, like sun drying laundry outside in summer. That towel is bone dry in 40 minutes. No smell, no damp. Same with bathrobe.
Leave bathroom door open. That same mirror shines into hallway and warms hallway floor 3 meters away because light travels. In a small 6 square meter bathroom one mirror panel replaces four things at once. Radiator, towel dryer, mirror anti fog heater and that loud 2000 watt blower.
Why Bathroom Mold Ends In Three Weeks Without Bleach
Every bathroom has black dots in corners, on ceiling above shower, around window. You bleach, you paint anti mold, it comes back in two weeks.
It comes back because tiles are cold. You shower, you make 28 degree humid air full of water. That air touches 13 degree tile and drops water like a cold beer bottle sweating in summer. Tile is wet 24 hours a day, grout is wet, silicone is wet. Mold lives on that permanent wet film. Ventilation does not help because after you close window tiles stay cold and stay wet.
A ceiling infrared panel, 500 watts for 6 square meters, or that mirror panel on wall, shines directly on those cold tiles and keeps them at 23 degrees warm. Now 28 degree humid air touches 23 degree tile and nothing happens. No water, no wet film. It is physically impossible for condensation to form on a warmer surface. In 90 percent of bathrooms black mold dries out and falls off by itself in three weeks. No bleach, no chemicals, just warm tiles.
And because there is no air movement, there is no dust burning smell. Humidity after shower drops back to healthy 50 percent in 20 minutes because warm tiles do not hold water, instead of staying at 90 percent for hours.
How It Lives
One mirror heater 600W or one white ceiling panel 500W for a 6 square meter bathroom. One WiFi thermostat with small sensor you put on wall where you actually stand naked, not on hot radiator. One app on phone.
Morning 23 degrees from 6 to 8 only. Evening 23 from 19 to 22 only. Rest of day 16 degree anti mold mode for 6 cents a day. Weekend house on coast has no water inside so nothing can freeze and burst. You can leave it at minus 15 for three months completely off. One hour before arrival tap ON, arrive to 26 degree warm floor barefoot and mirror already clear and warm.
It pulses 15 minutes on, 45 minutes off because warm tiles keep radiating when off. Effective 1.2 kWh per day, 0.30 euro per day, whole winter about 55 euros for bathroom. Silent, maintenance free, 25 year warranty, IP65, no boiler service, no towel dryer using 300W for 4 hours.
The bathroom was never meant to be a room where you heat air. It was meant to be a room where you heat skin, floor, towels and glass. Once you heat those, air becomes warm by itself in 3 minutes.
